Stoneridge Inn is a family affair, bringing together the dreams, talents and experience of Jim, Evelyn, John and Sandy Stallard. After searching for several years from Vermont to Georgia, the family found Stoneridge for sale on the Internet. On their first visit, the lovely manor home with its beautiful and peaceful surroundings immediately felt like home.
While accompanying Jim on his various military assignments, Evelyn maintained the family home and volunteered with many of the military community agencies, organizing and coordinating social and cultural events, to include formal dinners, national receptions, and outreach programs. After moving to Connecticut, Evelyn became the assistant administrator of an elderly housing complex in Storrs, also serving as the director and coordinator of the facility's meal program. At Stoneridge, she continues to follow her love of baking and interacting with guests. Most of John's school years were spent in Europe and Canada. His interest in the culinary arts began while attending the University of Connecticut, working one summer for a restaurant on Nantucket Island. Prior to Stoneridge, John successfully managed a restaurant in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for twelve years. For several years he was a chef in one of Lexington's restaurants. Presently, he and his business partner own and operate CHEFS Catering Company out of Stoneridge, hosting events at the Inn and throughout the Shenandoah Valley. John also enjoys preparing the breakfast and dinner meals for guests at Stoneridge. Growing up in West Virginia, Sandy worked many years in the hospitality field, managing restaurants in the Carolinas and West Virginia. Sandy's natural talent and love of decorating ensures that the rooms of Stoneridge come alive each and every season. John and Sandy were married at Stoneridge in 2003. Sam, our loving Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix came to Stoneridge as a wee puppy. Although kept in the family area, Sam loves the attention of our guests.
