toneridge is exceptional Shenandoah Valley lodging on the outskirts of Lexington, Virginia. In addition to the five well-appointed guest rooms, there are several common areas where guests can find quiet solitude or enjoy conversation with others visiting the Lexington area. The most popular of these is the spacious front porch with its panoramic view of the grounds and the rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley – lodging with all the comforts of a fine old Virginia home.

Living RoomLocated on the first floor of our 1829 home, the room offers guests an inviting and comfortable place to enjoy the company of others or quietly read a book.  Also known as the music room with a parlor grand piano, guitars, and antique violin and clarinets, the room features oil paintings from France and etchings from Germany.  Sherry is always available for guests in the evening.

Patio — During the warmer months, the patio, surrounded by raised-bed garden of flowers and herbs, serves as an optional dining area for breakfast and dinner.

LibraryLocated on the first floor of our 1829 home, the library, decorated in deep blues with burgundy accents, features a gas-log fireplace, an extensive collection of books, mounted game birds, a grandfather clock from the Black Forest of Germany, a video library, parlor games, and treasures gathered by the Stallard family during their travels in Europe.  A television with satellite connection and telephone are available for our guests.

Two centuries of history and the innkeepers' personal touches combine to create exceptional Shenandoah Valley lodging in Lexington, Virginia.

Innkeepers (l-r) Jim, Sandy, John and Evelyn Stallard ...and Sam (cold nose, warm heart).

"What will stand out in our minds are the personal touches – the way we were made to feel welcome and comfortable, and the ease in which you do that."
